An explanationSeaweed is the generic name for underwater algae. It is the main cause of fouling on your hull and the reason that year after year, you spend large amounts of money on antifouling paints, which in fact, are becoming more and more ineffective as a result of legislation banning the use of pollutants that are harmful to the environment. If the algae (seaweed) was prevented from attaching itself to your hull in the first place, you would have no need to paint the various products on it so regularly! The solution is simple! The Ultrasonic Antifouling unit destroys algae and prevents barnacle growth, so they don't attach themselves to your hull. How Ultrasonic Antifouling worksThe control box sends a variety of pulsed ultrasonic signals to the transducer, which in turn emits a series of low power, low frequency sound waves which are virtually inaudible to the human ear. They create a wall of moving water molecules over the whole of the submerged hull. The micro - environment which exists as a result, destroys algae and barnacles so they don't attach themselves to your hull. 'The science' is in the differing frequencies and the harmonics set up within. It's as simple as that and it works! What do I need to power the Ultra?Ultrasonic Anifouling requires a very small amount of power to drive it. Generally less than 1 amp throughout the range. If you are on a marina berth with shorepower, this is of no consequence whatever. If however, you don't have this facility, we are able to supply a solar powered charging unit at a very reasonable cost, and this will also supplement your other electrical requirements.
