Hunter 340 'Orion' - Newport Waterways Marina, Queensland, Australia

10th February 2010

I have a Hunter 340 which I purchased in 2008 it is a 2000 model.  I keep the vessel in Newport harbour which is Redland Bay just north of Brisbane Australia However I live in Bromsgrove England for the summer I will be returning to the boat in mid September.

I fitted the system myself with no problem I used an orbital sander to obtain the perfect seating for the sender. (8/10 for ease of fitment)

I had a diver down in late December two months after fitting the system. There was no evidence of excessive weed only one barnacle on the prop 40 minutes and the hull was clear. Very satisfactory. The boat had been antifouled aprox 18 months prior by the previous owner and cleaned and washed twelve months prior when the boat had been slipped for survey .

There is an audible noise at night as out of necessity the system is fitted beneath my bunk however it is not loud enough to cause either my wife or I to need to switch it off at night.

With my limited experience of the system a friend on the marina is proposing fitting the larger system to his Hunter 45.

Best wishes
Alan Bennett.
